Benefits of OEM Parts

An assortment of Automotive parts on a dark background

Our service team uses only Ford OEM parts and GMC OEM parts when servicing Ford and GMC vehicles. Why? Only OEM parts, like the ones stocked in our parts centers, are guaranteed to work and fit exactly like the parts that were on your car when rolled off of the factory floor. Third party aftermarket parts can’t make that guarantee. What does “OEM” stand for, and why are they so important for Huntingdon drivers to use? Keep reading to find out.

A Definition of OEM Parts

What are OEM parts? “OEM” stands for “Original Equipment Manufacturer”. In other words, Ford OEM parts match exactly the parts Ford vehicles rolled out of the factory with, while GMC OEM parts have that same relationship with GMC vehicles. That’s why these parts are guaranteed, and why we recommend that Pittsburgh drivers use them exclusively on their Ford and GMC vehicles.

4 Reasons to Use Only OEM Parts

OEM parts are markedly superior to aftermarket third party auto parts. Why? While third party aftermarket parts often cost less, those parts are typically not guaranteed and are not made to the precise specifications of the original manufactures. But both Ford OEM parts and GMC OEM parts are guaranteed and fully backed by Ford and GM. Here are four reasons we recommend all of our Harrisburg customers use these parts:

  • Quality equal to the original parts. OEM parts are sure to work exactly like the original parts installed in the factory.
  • A precise fit. OEM parts are made to the exact specifications of the original factory parts, so they’re guaranteed to fit. That’s not always true of aftermarket parts, which are often made to fit multiple makes.
  • Warranty coverage. OEM parts always come with a warranty. That can’t always be said of aftermarket parts.
  • Compliant with your vehicle’s warranty. Using an aftermarket part won’t always void your warranty, but you can remove all doubt by using OEM parts.
